# How do I find my invoices on eBay? — DocFind

**If you sell on eBay, it separates the monthly money summary from the tax document, and they live on two tabs of the same screen.** Asking for the wrong one is why this feels harder than it is. eBay says so itself: "The statement is not an invoice and does not replace existing reports." The steps below are eBay's own ([*Reconciling your eBay sales transactions*](https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/reconciling-ebay-sales-transactions?id=4847), read 23 September 2026).

## The path <p>Go to the Payments tab in Seller Hub, or Payments in My eBay, and select **Reports**. From there eBay sends you to **Statements** for the financial statement and to "the Invoices tab" for tax invoices. Everything else is a choice between those two.</p>

## Statements — the money record <p>eBay describes the financial statement as "a summary of your monthly account activity" and says "It's in PDF format." Select **Download** next to the month, then **Summary** or **Full statement**. The retention is generous and worth knowing: "Financial statements are available to download for 10 years from the date of issue, and only show details for payments processed by eBay" — so anything settled elsewhere is not in them.</p>

## Invoices — the tax document <p>This is the invoice eBay issues to you as a seller: it "is issued for services rendered and includes all applicable seller fees and other costs." The tab shows "the list of available tax invoices by month", each with **Summary Download** or **Detail Download**; "The summary is in PDF format. The detailed view is in CSV format". Credit notes, issued when fees are reversed, come as "a PDF summary and a CSV file with transaction-level details" from the same place. eBay's page does not state a retention period for invoices and credit notes the way it does for statements — which is a good argument for downloading them as they are issued rather than assuming they will be there in five years.</p>

## Which one does your accountant want? <p>Ask them; the two do different jobs. The CSV is the one you can sort and total in a spreadsheet. The PDF is the one that reads as a document when it is attached to something. Our own habit is to keep both, because eBay only promises the ten-year window for statements.</p>

## The problem that starts after the download <p>A year of monthly invoices is twelve PDFs. Three years across two marketplaces and a payment processor is a hundred, all named something like `invoice_2025_07.pdf`, all in Downloads. When the question arrives — which month carried that refund, which invoice has that reference number — the file name tells you nothing, because the answer is on page two.</p> <p>This is the point where people start opening files one at a time.
